Mining Technician - Senior

Summary of Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Mining Engineering, the incumbent will be involved in all phases of assessment and development of underground and/or open pit mining projects. More specifically, the candidate will be called upon to:

• Contribute strategically to the design, validation and optimization of technical drawings based on project requirements and industry best practices;
• Actively participate in the development and optimization of long-term planning of mining activities;
• Contribute to the analysis, validation and interpretation of technical and operational data necessary for project development up to the construction and production phases;
• Participate in the technical evaluation and equipment selection process for the various projects under study;
• Contribute to the development, analysis and validation of project operating and capital cost estimates;
• Contribute to the preparation and writing of technical reports;
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary technical team to support the achievement of quality deliverables for clients;
• Participate in the identification of technical and operational risks, and opportunities for improvement related to projects;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of working methods, tools, standards and technical processes;
• Participate in technical exchanges with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders;
• Perform other related tasks in conjunction with the project team.

Qualifications

• Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in mineral technology;
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in mining engineering;
• Have solid experience in mine design and project layout;
• Able to communicate in French and/or English;
• Good knowledge of specialized software such as AutoCAD, Deswik and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Additional Information

• The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard and/or telework;
• Possibility of hybrid work mode (office and remote work);
• Possibility to travel abroad and within Canada depending on the availability of the candidate.
