Senior Mechanical Engineer

Summary of Responsibilities

Reporting functionally to the Chief Mechanical Engineer who is based in Canada, the incumbent will play a critical role in leading the mechanical activities for G Mining Services projects and in particular those of Eldorado Gold.

This position combines leadership and hands-on operational responsibilities. The incumbent will be responsible for the mechanical engineering activities, ensuring compliance with Greek regulations, supporting the mechanical team development, and managing consultants or vendors as required. The role is expected to evolve over time as the organization grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and authenticate (signed and sealed) relevant mechanical engineering documentation including drawings and calculations required for permitting and construction. The documentation must be bilingual: Greek - English.
• Act as a checker for the mechanical engineering deliverables.
• Make sure that all applicable codes and regulations are respected.
• Provide technical support to the 3D CAD designers.
• Assist the project team in the permitting process.
• Prepare study report.
• Coordinate with client, vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist the management to structure and develop the mechanical team.

Requirements

• Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). Be recognized as a mechanical professional engineer authorized to sign and seal mechanical engineering deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Proven experience in the industrial sector.
• Good knowledge of piping is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the Greek engineering standards and permitting process.
• Practical experience in mining and construction or similar project-based environments is highly desirable.
• Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is an asset.
• Fluency in Greek and English is mandatory (written and spoken).
• Good knowledge in specialized software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Plant 3D or similar.
• Good knowledge of Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• The position will be based in Athens, Greece.
• Permanent full-time position.
• The role will evolve as the company grows in the region, with potential for working on international projects.
• Must be available to travel internationally and within Greece for field survey and coordination.
