Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Summary of responsibilities
Reporting functionally to the Director of the Earthworks Department who is based in Canada, the applicant will work in close collaboration with other Engineers as well as the Project Discipline Lead. He or she will play a critical role in leading the design and review activities for the Eldorado Gold projects, with potential implications on other G Mining projects.
This position combines leadership and hands-on responsibilities. The applicant will be responsible for structural design, ensuring compliance with Greek regulations, supporting the development of designers and technicians, and managing engineering drawings and documentation. The role is expected to evolve over time as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and authenticate (sign and seal) relevant geotechnical engineering documentation including drawings and calculations required for permitting and construction.
- Make sure that all applicable codes and regulations are respected.
- Provide technical support to the 3D CAD designers.
- Assist the project team in the permitting process.
- Prepare reports.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), recognized as a professional civil/structural engineer authorized to sign and seal engineering deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical of civil engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Experience in the mining sector an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Greek engineering standards and permitting processes.
- Practical experience in mining and construction or similar project-based environments is highly desirable.
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment.
- Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of specialized software (Geostudio, Rocscience or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
