Junior Mining Technician

Summary of Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Mining Engineering, the incumbent will be involved in all phases of assessment and development of underground and/or open pit mining projects. More specifically, the candidate will be called upon to:

• Contribute to the design of drawings based on specific project data;
• Participate in activities related to long-term mining planning;
• Contribute to the collection, compilation and organization of data required to advance projects through construction and production;
• Participate in the equipment evaluation and selection process for the various projects under consideration;
• Support the team in estimating project operating and capital costs;
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports;
• Work with the multi-disciplinary technical team to support the achievement of quality deliverables for customers;
• Perform any other related tasks in support of the project team.

Qualifications

• Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in mineral technology;
• Able to communicate in French and/or English;
• Good knowledge of specialized software such as AutoCAD, Deswik and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Curiosity and interest in continuing education.

Additional Information

• The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard and/or telework;
• Possibility of hybrid work mode (office and remote work);
• Possibility to travel abroad and within Canada depending on the availability of the candidate.
