Instrumentation Engineer

Summary of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, the candidate will be part of the project design and development team. Specifically, the candidate will be called upon to:

• Prepare detail engineering documentation for industrial automation networks.
• Select plant automation equipment such as programmable logic controllers and process instruments.
• Develop the architecture of plant communication and control networks.
• Prepare cost estimates and project schedules.
• Prepare design specifications for instrumentation systems.
• Monitor and verify installation, modification, testing, and operation of automation systems.
• Manage procurement contracts for automation equipment.
• Have knowledge of automation in the mining industry is a significant asset.

Requirements

• Have at least six (6) years of experience.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Be a registered member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Be proficient in French and English (spoken and written).
• On-site (construction site) experience is considered a strong asset.

Additional Information

• The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard or in South America (depending on the candidate’s preference and location).
• Hybrid work arrangement available (office-based and remote work).
• This position requires several consecutive months of work in the office or hybrid mode followed by a few months of field work at mining sites.
