Lead Civil, Structure and Architecture Engineer (CSA)
Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) Manager, the selected candidate will hold the position of Lead Structural Engineer, responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers in the execution of civil engineering works for mining projects. More specifically, the Lead CSA Engineer will oversee the projects, ensuring the design, planning, and execution of work in accordance with the quality and safety standards of G Mining Services. The selected candidate will collaborate with various teams, clients, and different stakeholders to ensure project success. More specifically, the Lead CSA Engineer will:
- Lead and supervise the civil engineering team in the design and delivery of mining projects.
- Plan, organize and manage engineering and construction projects, including the development of schedules and budgets.
- Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies for projects.
- Coordinate activities with other technical disciplines and external partners.
- Ensure that projects meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct technical reviews and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential problems.
- Prepare and present progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide mentoring and technical support to team members.
Requirements
- Degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years civil engineering experience, experience in the mining industry is a strong asset.
- Experience in designing concrete and steel structures for heavy industry buildings.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large and complex projects.
- Project management skills, including planning, cost control and resource management.
- Experience in preparing and designing drawings of concrete and steel structures.
- Proficient with design and project management software (Revit, AutoCAD, MS Project, etc.).
- Be able to communicate in French and/or English.
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (O.I.Q.) or licensed as a professional engineer in any other province in Canada.
