Quality Surveillance Coordinator
Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the incumbent will be involved in performing on behalf of clients and projects the monitoring and surveillance on vendors/suppliers implementing quality management plans and the monitoring of fabrication of equipment. More specifically, the QS Coordinator will be called upon to:
- Lead the Quality Surveillance Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs).
- Partake in meetings with QS Coordinator, Package Engineer, Expeditor, vendors/suppliers, and Client representative if needed.
- Make themselves familiar with the individual inspection and test acceptance criteria through the review of technical specifications, standards, codes and or statutory requirements.
- Utilize the Supply Quality Management system and tools, including the VDDR Tracker, Tag Tracker and Inspection Tracker.
- Respond in a timely manner to vendor/supplier issued notifications to attend scheduled inspections.
- Participate in Supplier quality document review.
- Coordinate the hiring of international Quality Shop Inspectors to conductor vendor/supplier’s inspection of OEM equipment.
- Ensure that the data being reported is aligned with to the specified requirements and is complete and accurate.
- Support the Engineer and QS Coordinator to resolve technical issues and/or non-conformances.
- Participate in the preparation, issuance, management, and closeout of minutes of meeting (MOM) and or their actions, surveillance inspector Flash Reports and Final Inspection Reports, observations, non-conformance reports (NCRs), final inspection release certificates (FIRCs).
- Establish and maintain the project quality documents in a detailed, accurate and timely manner i.e.: registers, reports, correspondence, and inspection release certificates.
Requirements
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Operations Management or other relevant field.
- Have a minimum of seven (+7) years of relevant experience.
- Have experience with quality control, quality assurance processes and dealing directly with vendors/suppliers and clients.
- Have experience in sourcing supplier quality management for international projects.
- Have a high degree of technical proficiency with manufacture processes in civil (CSA), mechanical (MC) and electrical/instrumentation (E/I) engineering, material types in the CSA, MC, E/I and supply items and components.
- Be able to communicate in French and/or English.
- Be familiar with ISO 9001, six sigma or similar accepted quality management standards.
Abilities
- Planning and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the CSA, MC, E/I industries.
- Technical skills to interpret specifications, drawings, codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Able to interpret vendor's/supplier's inspection and test plans, processes, and procedures for conformity.
- Able to monitor and keep track on the vendor/supplier implementation of their quality plans and procedures during manufacture.
Additional information
- The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard and/or remotely.
- Possibility of working in hybrid mode (office and remote work).
- Possibility of travelling abroad and in Canada depending on the availability of the candidate.
