Summary of responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of the CSA (Civil, Structural and Architectural) Department, the selected candidate will be part of the CSA team dedicated to producing concrete, steel, and architectural drawings for heavy industrial buildings in large mining projects. More specifically, the Senior CSA Designer will be called upon to:

• Producing 2D and 3D engineering drawings (steel, concrete, and architectural), including plans, sections, and elevations, for heavy industrial buildings, taking designs from concept to final product while working collaboratively with engineers.
• Coordinate with deferent disciplines (mechanical, electrical) to produce complex structural drawings that will be issued to site for construction and/or fabricators.
• Follow G Mining's design guidelines and procedures.
• Maintain accurate design files for reference.
• Check 2D drawings and 3D models for clashes and constructability with other disciplines.
• Adapt to different client standards and design software.
• Demonstrate creativity and innovation in problem-solving.
• Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

• Hold a technical degree in technology or equivalent training, with specialization in concrete, steel, and architectural design.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in concrete and steel design.
• Experience in preparing and drafting designs for structural steel and detailing.
• Experience in designing reinforced concrete, masonry and/or wood structures is an asset.
• Have experience in drafting and design within a consulting engineering environment.
• Have advanced knowledge of drafting software (mastering Revit is an asset).
• Have advanced knowledge of preventive measures, health, and safety rules at work and hazardous material regulations in the workplace.
• Be able to communicate in French and/or English, both speaking and writing.
• Knowledge of Navisworks is an asset.

• The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard.
• Possibility of working in hybrid mode (office and remote work).
• Possibility of travelling abroad and in Canada depending on the availability of the candidate.
