Project Manager – Laboratory
Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Engineering and Construction, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the analytical laboratories in the various phases of projects, from preliminary studies to design, construction and commissioning for local and international clients. He will select analytical methods, choose the necessary equipment, supervise the layout of laboratories and recruit and train local chemists. More specifically, the Project Manager – Laboratory will be called upon to:
- Select analytical methods according to specific client needs, in the various phases of study, design, execution and commissioning of mining projects.
- Choose analytical laboratory equipment based on the needs of the mine and ore and wastewater treatment plants, considering the specific features of each project.
- Coordinate the design and layout of analytical, metallurgical, satellite and environmental laboratories.
- Participate in the supplier proposal evaluation process and select equipment.
- Prepare capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX) budgets for projects.
- Ensure interdisciplinary coordination and facilitate information exchange between stakeholders, ensuring the alignment of technical aspects of projects.
- Recruit and train local chemists to ensure efficient laboratory operations at project sites.
Requirements
- University degree in chemistry or related field.
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience in laboratory management in the mining or industrial sector, including international projects is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment and analytical methods.
- Be able to communicate in French and/or English.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset.

- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural teams.
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Rigor and organizational skills.
Additional information
- The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard and/or remotely.
- Possibility of working in hybrid mode (office and remote work).
- Possibility of traveling abroad and in Canada depending on the availability of the candidate.
