Metallurgy Manager
Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Engineering and Construction, the Manager of the Metallurgy Department at G Mining Services will play a key role in the management and strategic direction of all projects related to metallurgical processes. Responsible for the entire department's operations, the Manager will ensure technical excellence, compliance with quality standards, and client satisfaction. The incumbent will also be an essential contributor to the company’s overall strategy, ensuring that metallurgical expertise effectively supports other divisions and projects of G Mining Services.
The main responsibilities include:
- Managing and coordinating the activities of the metallurgy team, including the development, planning, and execution of complex projects related to ore processing, while ensuring compliance with deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Playing a strategic role in all G Mining Services’ projects by collaborating with other departments to ensure optimal integration of metallurgical processes throughout the different development and execution phases of the projects.
- Ensuring the quality of services by establishing and maintaining high technical performance and safety standards and ensuring that all projects comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements (including NI 43-101).
- Proactively managing client relationships, serving as the primary technical contact for metallurgical process-related questions, ensuring that client expectations are met, and proposing solutions to challenges encountered.
- Managing department budgets, planning resources, and ensuring cost optimization while meeting deadlines and objectives for each project.
- Supporting and developing the internal expertise of the team by promoting continuous training and innovation in metallurgical processes.
- Contributing to the company’s strategic decisions regarding metallurgical processes by providing technical expertise to other departments and senior management.
- Identifying market opportunities for new services and participating in the development and expansion of metallurgical and process services to meet growing client needs.
Qualifications
- Have a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, including management responsibilities in mineral processing or engineering consulting.
- Have an expertise in processing precious and base metals, along with a solid experience in managing multidisciplinary projects.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the best practices in metallurgy and process engineering, as well as the regulatory requirements such as NI 43-101.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure the quality and safety of deliverables.
- Ability to communicate in French and/or English.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese, an asset.
- International professional experience is an asset.

Additional information
- Depending on the place of residence of the selected candidate, the position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard, Canada or in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
