CORE – Project Leader
Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the CORE (Construction Readiness) Construction Manager, the incumbent will be involved in overseeing and managing major mining and construction projects from inception to completion. The Project Leader will be more specifically called upon to:
- Lead and manage mining and construction projects, ensuring that objectives are met, risks mitigated and deadlines met;
- Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians and subcontractors, promoting collaboration and efficiency;
- Provide technical advice and solutions to field issues to ensure quality project delivery;
- Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and value for money throughout the project lifecycle;
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to avoid delays, safety risks and cost overruns;
- Ensure that all project activities comply with health, safety and environmental regulations, as well as company policies;
- Develop budgets for projects in the feasibility phase;
- Assess resources required and establish construction schedule;
- Carry out technical engineering reviews and guarantee constructability;
- Develop construction-specific KPIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mining, civil, mechanical, electrical or equivalent) or certified technician (related technical discipline);
- Project Management Certification (PMP) is an asset;
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience in the mining, construction or heavy industry sectors;
- Be able to communicate in French and/or English;
- Proven experience in leading large-scale construction or mining projects;
- Ability to use project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD);
- Extensive field experience, especially on construction sites.

- Strong technical knowledge of mining operations, construction methodologies and project management principles;

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills;
- Effective communication;
- Ability to manage budgets and resources;
- Ability to develop realistic execution plans;
- Excellent understanding of the different construction stages;
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks while monitoring them;
- Rigorous risk management to minimize contingencies;
- Flexibility to adapt plans to changes while meeting objectives;
- Concern for safety.

- The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard.
- Possibility of working in hybrid mode (office and remote work).
