Louis Gignac, ing.,M.Sc.,D.Eng., Chairman
After undergraduate and graduate studies resulting in a Doctorate in Engineering (D. Eng), Mr. Gignac has been involved, during his professional career, in the development and operations of some 20 mines throughout the Americas. For 20 years, he served as President and CEO of Cambior Inc., a mid-size public mining company listed both in Canada and the USA and was involved in many M&A transactions and financings in addition to project development and operations management.
Louis-Pierre Gignac, Eng.,M.Sc.A.,CFA, Co President
Louis-Pierre Gignac has more than 16 years of experience in the mining industry. Prior to joining G Mining Services Inc., Louis-Pierre served as Mine Manager of the Caymen Project and was also Financial Analyst for Cambior. This experience coupled with a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a CFA enable him to provide expertise in open-pit aspects of the project, financial modeling and economic evaluations. He has an outstanding knowledge of the latest software such as Whittle and Gemcom. He is also a member of the l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) & CIM (Canadian Institute of Mining).
Mathieu Gignac, Eng., Co President
Mathieu Gignac has more than 15 years of experience in the mining industry. Prior to joining G Mining Services Inc., he worked as Operations Manager and Mine Manager for a South American open pit operation which safely produced in excess of 400,000oz annually while maintaining unit costs at industry leading levels. He has proven leadership skills in managing large mining operations while driving production improvements, as well as mine/plant expansion projects. His responsibilities include providing project management expertise and leadership to mine development projects. He is a member of the l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Quebec (OIQ) and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
Robert Marchand, Eng., Vice President - Mining Engineer
Mr. Marchand is a mining engineer specialized in underground operations and has more than 30 years of experience in project evaluations, technical services and operations, mainly in precious metals, base metals as well as in the industrial metals sector. Before joining G Mining Services Inc., he was Investment Manager for the Sentient Group, a major private equity fund working in the mining industry. He was also Vice-President of Operations with MinQuest Capital; a mining fund based in Montreal and spent over 20 years in different technical and management positions with Cambior and subsequently with IAMGOLD. He is a member of the l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration inc. (SME).
Réjean Sirois, Eng., Vice President, Geology and Resources
Réjean Sirois is a geological engineer with an experience of nearly 30 years in mine operation, technical services and project evaluation. Prior to joining G Mining Services Inc., Réjean was Manager, Mining Geology and Mine Manager for an intermediate gold producer. Réjean is specialized in the mineral resource estimation process and he has worked extensively in underground, as well as open pit operations, throughout his career. His practical experience and expertise in mine geology and grade control reconciliation have led him to perform internal/external reserve and resource audits as well as validate or formulate QAQC programs. He has excellent knowledge of the latest mining and geological software such as GEMCOM and SAGE 2001.
Réjean is fluent in French, English and Spanish. He is a member of “l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec” (OIQ), the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) and the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC).
Michael Gignac, CPA, CA, Vice President, Controller
Michael Gignac has been the Controller for G Mining Services Inc. since its inception in 2006. His responsibilities include all financial matters of the firm: financial & management reporting, internal controls, finance, tax, IT, payroll & remuneration. He is also responsible for accounting & financial deliverables on certain mandates of the firm. He played an important role in implementing the accounting systems and internal controls for the Canadian Malartic Mine & the Merian Project. He is a member of the Ordre des Comptables Professionels Agréés du Québec.
Benoit Lefebvre, Vice President, Human Resources
Benoit Lefebvre is responsible for managing all human resources sectors in Canada and abroad. Specialist in Human Resources Management, he has over 15 years of experience in human resources, health and safety and labours relations. Prior to joining the team at G Mining Services Inc., he has held positions as Chief of Staff to the Quebec government within the Secretariat for Aboriginal Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife, while being involved with the Northern Quebec Plan (Plan Nord du Québec) and MAPAQ. Previously, he was Industrial Relations Manager at Canadian Royalties and the Nunavik Nickel Project and Human Resources Manager at Olymel in Berthierville. Benoit Lefebvre holds a BA in Industrial Relations from the University of Montreal and studied law at the University of Quebec in Montreal.
Jean-Louis Folio, Logistics Manager
Mr. Jean-Louis Folio has been in charge of the logistics and transport department within G Mining Services Inc. since the end of 2010.
Before joining G Mining Services Inc.’s team, he owned and led logistics, transport and maritime expertise companies located either near the Indian Ocean or in French Guyana.
He has been in charge of logistics and transport for mining companies such as Cambior Guyana (Caiman Project), Canadian Royalties (Nunavik Nickel Project), Iamgold Corporation (Essakane Project in Burkina Faso and Sadiola Project in Mali), and more recently for Newmont Mining Corporation (Merian Project in Suriname) and Stornoway Diamonds (Renard Project in northern Québec).
Jean-Louis Folio has, to date, more than 30 years of experience in international logistics and transport.
